B.Sc (Biology)GU. I have been with the Genomics Research Centre for 8 years as Senior Research Coordinator. Prior to joining the team at GRC I worked in the United States and Australia in private and hospital pathology laboratories and in cytogenetic research at Sydney University. I have various certificates in laboratory animal care, veterinary nursing, OHS general radiation ANSTO Lucas Heights, data management and clinical trial management. Currently I am endeavoring to complete a graduate certificate in drug development with UNSW and have started a Masters in philosophy at Griffith University. My position as Senior Research Coordinator includes the management of a small team of dedicated workers, at the GRC clinic, who gather the phenotypic data and samples from all the wonderful people that volunteer to participate in our research. We endeavour to recruit as many people as possible, be they affected by a particular disease or not. We try and contact extended family members involved in large family studies. All samples are coded and deidentified and with the help of specialist volunteers all information is entered into our managed database to be used by the research scientists.
