Population and Molecular Genetics Staff

 Natalie Colson

BHSc Hons In 1999, I commenced my Bachelor of Health Science at Griffith University Gold Coast. Previously I was involved in the financial and medical professions for 20years. My interest in human disease genetics led me to completing my Honours year at the Genomics Research Centre where I investigated the role of hormone receptor genes in migraine. In 2003, I was awarded the Griffith University Medal for academic excellence. I am currently undertaking my PhD at the Genomics Research Centre, where I am investigating the potential role of homocysteine metabolism in migraine susceptibility. The prospective application of the outcome of my research is the treatment and control of migraine for some sufferers by nutritional supplementation.
